We seek an engaging and passionate Secondary School English Teacher to join our faith-based community on a one-year part-time contract.

We seek an engaging and passionate Secondary School English Teacher to join our faith-based community on a one-year part-time contract.

As an English Teacher, your duties will include delivering an engaging and rigorous curriculum.

Commencing on 16 January 2026, this position is three days per week to cover a staff member on leave until the end of the 2026 academic year.

Relocation assistance is available.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will bring a strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and pedagogical practice.

The successful candidate will also be fully aligned with the Christian values and beliefs of Freshwater Christian College, and seek a role providing opportunities to utilise their talents and skills to make a difference in the lives of our students and the wider College community.

Essential qualifications and requirements

1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in teaching.
2. Queensland College of Teachers Registration (or the ability to obtain).
3. Be fully aligned with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of Freshwater Christian College.
4. Able to affirm the College’s Statement of Faith.
5. Able to comply with College policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and training requirements, including those related to work health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
6. Able to work with all members of the College community.
7. A willingness to assist in extracurricular activities after normal working hours.
8. Be legally permitted to work in Australia.
