English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Ideal for Aspiring Teachers

Salary: £110-£115 per day

Start Date: Trialling ASAP for a September 2026 start

Are you a recent English graduate with a passion for education? If you're considering a future in teaching and want to gain meaningful experience in the classroom, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a full-time role supporting secondary school students in a dynamic North London school.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic English Graduate to join a high achieving secondary school in Islington as an English Teaching Assistant. You'll work closely with students aged 11-16, supporting them in English lessons. This is a fantastic first step for graduates who are serious about progressing into teacher training or are considering working within education.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging English lessons
• Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with classwork, homework, and revision
• Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Offering targeted support to students who may need extra help grasping key scientific concepts
• Contributing to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and enrichment

What We're Looking For:

• A degree in English or a closely related subject
• A genuine interest in working with young people and in education
• Some experience with secondary-aged pupils - e.g., through tutoring, mentoring, summer schools, or previous TA work
• A confident communicator with good organisational skills
• A proactive, positive, and reliable approach
