We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistant for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Kambalda Primary School is a small regional school approximately 631km north-east of Perth and 58km south of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the nearest regional city. We are highly valued in the Kambalda community with a reputation of caring and attentive instruction, catering for the academic, social, physical and emotional individual needs of each student.

Our values of resilience, organisation, persistence, confidence and getting along are embedded in the way we operate and in everything we do. We provide a safe, warm and friendly learning environment that supports each child to achieve their very best.

Learning programs are tailored to suit students' interests, passions and academic ability. We have an innovative, exciting, and stimulating learning environment to ignite the imagination of all students and we continually monitor and review all programs to ensure they remain effective, relevant and current.

Suitable applicants should be able to work under general supervision or autonomously, contributing their knowledge and expertise to support student achievement, while collaborating effectively with staff, parents, and the broader school community.

We are seeking applicants who are committed to improving educational outcomes for all students through an understanding of differentiation, intervention, and engagement strategies to support student access to the curriculum.

Suitable applicants will assist teachers in the delivery of planned education and therapy programs and contribute to the evaluation of student progress by providing feedback where appropriate.

The ability to support the general health and wellbeing of students, and a willingness to work positively with those who may display challenging behaviours, are highly desirable.

Applicants should have the ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, staff, and families, and possess a working knowledge of evidence-based approaches to learning and behaviour support.
