We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Tambrey Primary School was established in 1989 and is named after Tambrey Station, one of the first cattle stations in the district. We welcome enrolments from the suburbs of Tambrey, Jingari, Nickol and Nickol West and cater for approximately 700 children from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds.

The Role
We are seeking flexible individuals who display the ability to work independently, are team players who enjoy working with children and have a strong sense of social perceptiveness. Suitable applicants should possess cultural awareness and be focused on delivering programs to individuals and groups, including those students with complex needs and diagnosed disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Development Delay, mental health, trauma and other developmental disabilities/disorders.
Suitable applicants should ideally have capacity to support the overall health and emotional well-being of our students and help them reach their full potential through the development of their academic, physical and social skills.
Building meaningful relationships with children and their families will be an important part of this role, and as such, effective communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a professional team in assisting in the implementation of education programs, as well as high level organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers.
In addition to this, we highly value applicants should have competent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with students with special needs. Applicants should also display commitment to developing positive and productive relationships, embedding a proactive, inclusive, and respectful approach. Sound computer skills and the ability to create student resources are also desirable.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
