Education Assistant - Mainstream

We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Cascade Primary School (PS) is located 105 kilometres North West of Esperance set amongst beautiful Gum and Mallee bushland. The climate throughout the year is mild to moderate and generally comfortable. Cascade PS first opened at a site southeast of its current locality in 1974. This school was made up of a series of transportable buildings. After efforts by the local community, the government opted to build a new permanent structure to facilitate 100 children. This site was opened on the 17th of July 1981. Our enrolments generally fluctuate between 20 and 30 students, so we have lots of space for individualised teaching programs.

Cascade PS strives to foster respect for one another, build on the strengths of students and extend their achievements in an inclusive learning environment. The teaching and learning planning are based upon a sound knowledge of students, pedagogy and content. We believe students learn best when an individual's health and well-being is the foundation for learning, when flexible learning opportunities are provided and when teaching and learning processes and strategies promote life-long learners.

The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students is highly regarded.

We value applicants who possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. Suitable applicants will ideally be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans. Ideally, you should possess the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and teachers. You should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour.
