The Role

Settlers PS is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Education Assistant to take on the role of Defence School Mentor. This unique position supports students from Australian Defence Force (ADF) families by minimising the impact of mobility and parental absence on their educational and emotional wellbeing.

The Defence School Mentor plays an integral role in welcoming, integrating and farewelling our defence families, as well as supporting parents and teachers in meeting the needs of defence students.

As part of our Student Services Team, the Defence School Mentor will deliver targeted support, engaging programs, and inclusive activities that foster resilience, connection, and a sense of belonging. The ideal applicant would have a sound understanding of the unique challenges faced by defence families, along with a caring and empathetic nature that helps students feel safe and supported.
