Job description
The Clinical Haematology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for suitable registrars for 2027.
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania, and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania Medical School. The Hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region or state.
Salary $138,978 - $194,675 per annum Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025
Classification Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)
Award Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Period of Employment Fixed term, full time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata), commencing from 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Location Royal Hobart Hospital
Duties The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides on call cover for the unit as well as infrequent after-hours emergency cover at the hospital.
Essential Requirements Registration or eligible for Registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
