What roles and opportunities are there?
The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is seeking Teachers at all career stages to join Tasmanian Government schools. Opportunities are available across District Schools, High Schools, Isolated Schools, our Hard-to-staff Schools and Support Schools, in a wide range of learning areas including:
- English
- Mathematics and Science (STEM)
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Health and Physical Education
We have a strong and ongoing demand for secondary teachers, particularly in STEM, as well as experienced educators who can lead within the classroom and support the growth of others through mentoring and collaboration.
Opportunities are also available in regional and more isolated communities - particularly in the North-West and West Coast - where your skills are highly valued and your impact is significant. What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will need to:
- demonstrate contemporary teaching skills, knowledge and experience within the Australian Curriculum
- be recognised as an Australian qualified Teacher or completing your Education degree in 2026.
- hold current provisional, full or specialist VET registration granted by the Teacher Registration Board of Tasmania as well as a current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment/Volunteer) by February 2027.
