Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta is an independent Catholic school for girls, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889 and entrusted to Mercy Partners in 2021. The opportunity

This role is to support the diverse learning needs of all students by collaborating with staff to design lessons and assessments that are inclusive and accessible; partnering with parents to develop and implement personalised learning plans; and working directly with students to both challenge and support their learning. In doing so, the role nurtures the gifts and talents of each student, ensuring that, as a Catholic school, all actions and practices reflect the values and principles intrinsic to the Catholic faith and tradition.

What are we looking for?

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and approval with current NESA accreditation to teach courses in NSW.
• Experience teaching within or working with a diverse learning team.
• Experience teaching subjects for Stages 4-6 and in alignment with the relevant curriculum requirements.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Stage 3 outcomes and content.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Disability Provision processes.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring teaching staff in collaborative curriculum planning and cooperative teaching.
• Capacity to critically reflect and adjust teaching practice to improve learning outcomes.
• Capacity to establish a supportive environment conducive to effective student learning.
• Clear understanding of contemporary pedagogy including the use of technology in a 1:1 notebook environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative, organisational and collaborative working skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
• Capacity to actively support and participate in the life of the College, and the Catholic mission and Mercy values of the College.
• Current Working with Children Check clearance.
• Accreditation with NESA.
