Deputy Principal
We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
West Leeming Primary School (PS), located south of Perth in the suburb of Leeming, is a welcoming and inclusive school community with approximately 430 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The Role
West Leeming PS is seeking motivated, relational and improvement-focused instructional leaders who are committed to high-quality teaching and learning. We are ideally looking for Deputy Principals who are forward-thinking, informed by current educational research, and open to ongoing learning and professional reflection.
We are seeking leaders who would build professional trust, act with integrity, and support staff to grow in their practice. The role would involve contributing to strengthened consistency in teaching and learning across the school and requires strong interpersonal skills, sound professional judgement and a positive, solutions-focused approach to working with staff, students and families.
We are ideally seeking leaders who:
- Build respectful, trusting and professional relationships with students, staff and families, communicating with clarity, empathy and integrity.
- Display strong curriculum knowledge, particularly in English and Mathematics, and a deep understanding of high-impact, research-aligned pedagogy within the Department of Education’s Teaching for Impact framework.
- Lead instructional improvement through coaching, modelling, feedback and structured impact or improvement cycles.
- Work collaboratively with the Principal and leadership team to plan, enact and review whole-school priorities.
- Lead change with clear communication, consistency, follow-through and relational trust.
- Engage in professional conversations confidently and respectfully, upholding clear expectations while maintaining trust and dignity.
- Display calm, considered decision-making, supporting others to navigate challenges in a balanced and solutions-focused way.
- Balance strategic leadership with well-organised and effective operational management.
- Support Student Services within a multi-tiered model of wellbeing and engagement, working effectively with staff, families and external agencies.
- Approach challenges with a reflective, improvement-focused and solutions-oriented mindset.
