The Role

We are seeking an educational leader who will contribute positively to our school community and leadership team by promoting our school values and business plan priorities.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess proven leadership experience and display key attributes such as openness and capacity for learning, trustworthiness, resilience, interpersonal acumen, self-awareness, and a strong drive to excel. They will ideally maintain an unrelenting focus on improving educational outcomes for students through a shared high-expectations mindset. A sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, Teach for Impact, explicit instruction pedagogy, and contemporary best practices in Literacy and/or Numeracy is highly regarded.

In addition, the successful applicants will work closely and collaboratively with members of the leadership team to support key school priorities, including establishing a professional learning community model, promoting Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), developing positive connections with external agencies, and progressing the school’s journey towards cultural responsiveness as guided by the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. They will lead curriculum, assessment, and pedagogical improvement initiatives, particularly focusing on Kindergarten to Year 2 and English as an Additional Language or Dialect teaching practices.

The role also involves using a case management approach to support Students at Educational Risk (SAER) and those with additional needs by liaising with stakeholders, developing documented plans, and building teacher capacity. The Successful applicant will ideally strengthen staff skills in data analysis to set and monitor targets and review student progress, while fostering strong partnerships with staff, students, families, and the community to promote inclusion and high expectations. Additionally, they should contribute to policy and procedure development and undertake operational tasks aligned with the Deputy Principal portfolio.
