The Role

Amaroo PS is seeking an innovative and passionate Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. Working closely with the Principal and administration team, this pivotal role helps shape the school’s identity while driving its vision, mission, and values across the community.

The Deputy Principal will lead the delivery of high-quality curriculum and pedagogy across all phases of learning, supporting whole-school programs such as UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute), Word Origins, Talk for Writing (T4W), and Oxford Maths. A strong understanding of Teaching for Impact is highly desirable. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers and support staff to create engaging learning experiences and build a capable middle leadership team that ensures consistency and excellence across the school.

This role encompasses both strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the implementation of the School Plan, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with financial and legislative requirements. The Deputy Principal will foster a collaborative and inclusive culture, lead change with purpose, and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement in teaching and learning.

Applicants should demonstrate proven leadership and management experience, including expertise in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, and strong mentoring and coaching skills. The ability to lead change, enhance teacher practice, and support student learning is essential.

A flexible, resilient, and highly organised approach, combined with the ability to balance competing priorities, will be key to success in this role.
