Summary

Play a key role in driving St John Fisher College's mission by leading and shaping our dynamic Religious Education learning and teaching program. You will have the ability to teach Years 7-10 Religious Education, Study of Religion and Religion & Ethics.

This is a continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Middle Leader position including Middle Leader Allowance - Tier 2.2 (with potential to increase to Tier 3 in 2027), concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three-year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the designated curriculum area(s) taught in the school
  • Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through professional development of teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility
  • Supervising and inducting teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility
  • Analysing student performance data and addressing areas of concern through appropriate interventions
  • Managing financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience
  • Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.
  • Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.
  • Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.
  • Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
  • Having responsibility for a financial budget.
  • For this position you are required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
