Provide career and pathway advice to students, coordinate careers programs and events, and support university, TAFE, apprenticeship and employment pathways. The successful applicant will have qualifications, experience in secondary school careers education, knowledge of post-school pathways, and a commitment to student success.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and student-focused Careers Adviser to join our Senior Campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about supporting students as they navigate subject selection, tertiary education, vocational pathways and future career opportunities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Studies, the Careers Adviser will lead the College's careers and post-school pathways program for students.
The successful applicant will provide professional career guidance to students and parents while developing strong partnerships with universities, TAFE, employers, industry and external education providers.
Key Responsibilities
As the Careers Adviser, you will:
- Provide individual career counselling and pathway advice to students and families.
- Guide Year 10 students through subject selection for Years 11 and 12.
- Support Year 12 students with university, TAFE, apprenticeship, traineeship and employment applications.
- Provide expert advice regarding UAC applications, ATAR pathways, Early Entry Schemes, scholarships and alternative admission pathways.
- Coordinate enrolments and ongoing support for students studying with external providers.
- Coordinate careers events, university presentations, information evenings and the annual HSC & Careers Expo.
- Develop and deliver career education presentations and workshops.
- Maintain and regularly update the College careers resources.
- Publish careers information through the communication platforms.
- Liaise with universities, TAFE, employers and industry representatives to create opportunities for students.
- Support students transitioning from school into further education, training or employment.
- Monitor graduate destination data and maintain accurate student records.
- Attend professional learning and careers network meetings to remain informed of emerging trends and opportunities.
About You
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Qualifications in Career Development, Education, Counselling or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience providing career advice within a secondary school or education environment.
- Excellent knowledge of university admissions, UAC processes, TAFE pathways, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment opportunities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and external organisations.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High-level computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and online communication platforms.
- A proactive, collaborative and student-centred approach.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
Essential Requirements
- Current NSW Working with Children Check.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
Salary and Benefits
The successful applicant will be employed under the Professional and Operational Staff Enterprise Agreement (PAOS) 2025. Salary will be paid in accordance with the PAOS 2025, with the classification and remuneration determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
