Year 5 Teacher - Paternity Cover

Short-Term Contract: Beginning of March until Easter Primary School - Lancaster Agency: Veritas Education, Sarah Maclachlan

Veritas Education is looking to appoint a committed and confident Year 5 Teacher for a short-term paternity cover role at a welcoming primary school in Lancaster.

The position will run from the beginning of March until the Easter break, making it an ideal opportunity for a strong practitioner seeking a brief but fulfilling teaching assignment.

Role Overview

• Deliver high‑quality teaching to a Year 5 class
• Follow existing planning and ensure continuity for pupils
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and strong behaviour management
• Work collaboratively with the school's senior leadership and KS2 team
• Ensure effective marking and assessment throughout the cover period

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
• Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain classroom standards
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Availability from early March until Easter
