Visual Arts Teacher

12-Month Parental Leave Position (max. term)

Choose to work either a 4 or 5 day week

Commencing January 2025

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Visual Arts Teacher for a 1-year temporary parental leave cover. The position is available for either 4 or 5 days per week in 2025 - please indicate your preference in your application.

With strong communication skills and a passion for inspiring creativity, you'll become a part of our supportive and collaborative Arts Faculty. This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage artistic expression and critical thinking in our students.

The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of current trends in arts education and a genuine passion for nurturing young artists. Join us in fostering an environment where creativity flourishes and artistic talents are brought to life.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Teaching Visual Arts;
  • Ability to teach using new technologies e.g. Adobe Suite, 3D printing and laser cutting, is advantageous;
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
  • Planning and implementing effective teaching and learning strategies;
  • Assessing, providing feedback, and reporting on student learning;
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment;
  • Using effective pedagogies, a range of differentiated approaches and a variety of stimulating and interactive resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes;
  • Effectively managing student behaviour and maintaining an educational environment that promotes learning.
