Amata Anangu School is one of eight Anangu schools situated in the far northwest corner of South Australia in the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. Amata is one of the largest communities in the APY Lands. The Amata community is in the western Musgrave Ranges, west of the Stuart Highway, 500 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs.

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Secondary Teacher to join our collaborative secondary team, working alongside two Anangu Educators and the SACE Coordinator. Our team is committed to providing culturally responsive education that meets the diverse needs of our students through individualised learning plans and a case management approach.

Our secondary program offers SACE pathways tailored to each student, ensuring they have access to meaningful educational and vocational opportunities. The role involves supporting students in their academic and personal development, with a strong focus on engagement, literacy, and numeracy.

As part of our approach, you will help facilitate interstate and intrastate learning experiences, including work experience placements, specialist learning programs, and excursions that connect students to real-world opportunities beyond the community. You will also work closely with families, support services, and the broader school team to create a supportive and high expectations learning environment.

In addition to the salary, the following financial incentives apply (FTE):

Country Zone Allowance of $10,737

Locality Allowance of $10, 348

Fully Subsidised Accommodation including all utilities (accommodation may be shared)

Reduction of Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) debts for teachers in very remote areas - Department of Education, Australian Government
