Position Information
Condong Public School is excited to be moving into a new purpose-built campus at the end of 2025. The modern facility will feature contemporary classrooms, a library, canteen, administration spaces, and landscaped outdoor areas, giving students and staff a safe, inspiring place to learn. Until then, the school continues to thrive at the temporary site of the former Murwillumbah South Infants School.
In 2025, the school has 50 students across four composite classes, one of which is school-funded. Six per cent of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 22% have English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). Our professional and caring staff deliver high-quality teaching and learning in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed.
With strong Literacy and Numeracy programs, a focus on healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness, and the support of an engaged community, Condong Public School nurtures resilience, achievement, and personal growth for every student.
General Selection Criteria
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
 - Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
 - High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
 - Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
 - Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
 - Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
 
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated ability to balance the dual roles of teaching and leading the school, modelling high-quality practice while fulfilling the strategic and operational responsibilities of a principal.
 - Proven capacity to lead teaching and learning with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, applying innovative approaches in multi-age and/or multi-stage class settings to engage students and extend learning opportunities.
 - Demonstrated expertise in inclusive education and student wellbeing, fostering authentic partnerships with students, staff, families, and the Aboriginal community to ensure every student is known, valued, cared for, and supported to achieve success.
 - Demonstrated capacity to strategically and operationally lead the school, ensuring the effective use of resources, sound financial management, and compliance with Departmental policies to support a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.
 
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2025 and Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2026.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
