Position Information

Chifley College Bidwill Campus is a comprehensive 7-12 campus in the Chifley College. Our school is in Western Sydney on the land of the Darug people and we also share our site with Bidwill Public School, giving us a uniquely family oriented, community atmosphere and culture. We have a diverse student population with an enrolment of 670 students in 2023, with 21% Aboriginal students and 40% students with a Pacific Islander background. Our Support Unit caters for the needs of 62 students including students in Stage 6. We focus on fostering a culture of high expectations and a shared commitment from all members of our school community to wellbeing, engagement, learning and success in and beyond school. We provide quality education that enables our students to develop attributes and skills to achieve their full potential and to succeed in their chosen post–school pathway. Staff are highly professional and dedicated to working diligently to improve the learning opportunities and life options for students. We promote academic and vocational excellence, strong community links and provide a caring, secure, and cooperative environment with a vast range of extra curricula programs to support student responsibility. Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with a mild to moderate intellectual disability, Physical Disability, Autism, and complex needs including mental health, emotional disturbance and behaviour difficulties.

Quality classroom practice and highly developed management skills which enhance student engagement through enriched, differentiated, and individualised learning programs.

Demonstrated capacity to contribute positively to the Support Unit Faculty and effectively collaborate to support the holistic development of students.

Excellent interpersonal skills that strengthen student, parent/carer relationships, including Aboriginal families.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
