This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

The Role

Swanbourne PS is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and engaging Health and Physical Education (HPE) teacher to lead our specialist HPE program, and to join our professional and committed team.

Located in the heart of the western suburbs, Swanbourne PS is a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that places children at the centre of everything we do. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a high-quality HPE program to students from Year 1 to Year 6. The HPE teacher will teach skills, knowledge, and concepts aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, while fostering students’ enjoyment of physical activity.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Promote physical literacy, sportsmanship, and collaboration across all year levels.
  • Coordinate school sporting events, carnivals, and interschool/state competitions (athletics, swimming, cross country).
  • Support whole-school wellbeing initiatives and contribute to our Positive Behaviour Expectations framework.
  • Collaborate with staff to embed health and wellbeing strategies into daily practice.
  • Engage students in organised sport activities during play times and participate in network sporting events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the network to plan and deliver network sporting carnivals.
  • Complete grant applications relevant to HPE to support program development and resourcing.
  • A familiarity with carnival recording platforms such as Ezy Carnival or similar.
