Position Information
Gulyangarri Public School opened at the beginning of 2024. It is located adjacent to Liverpool Boys and Liverpool Girls High Schools in the Liverpool CBD. The school community is diverse with students from a range of cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. Current enrolments are 343 from Preschool to Year 6. 85% of students have a language background other than English from 58 different languages and five students are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. There are four support classes.
The school’s name comes from Darug language and translates to children in English. The word gulyangarri highlights the importance of children being at the centre of all that we do. An emphasis on quality play-based learning in the preschool and explicit teaching and strong character development in Kindergarten to Year 6 lays the foundation for student success. Partnerships with local schools, TAFE, universities and the broader community continue to be established that will support the enrichment of learning for students and staff.
