This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025.

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and passionate Home Economics Teacher to join our team.

The Role

The successful applicant should display the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding to deliver Home Economics to Year 12 level. The successful applicant will ideally have recent experience teaching Food Science Technology and Children, Family, and Community General courses. Experience teaching Certificate II in Hospitality in a commercial kitchen environment would certainly be an advantage.

Applicants should have effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team that spans all STEM areas and the ability to foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff, and community members. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater to individual student needs, and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position. You will ideally engage in reflective practice, have a strong evidence-based teaching approach, and be committed to Clarkson CHS whole-school pedagogical approaches. The successful applicant will also be mindful of healthy food options and be familiar with food budgeting and purchasing processes.
