About the initiative

The aim of the Complex Behaviour Support Coordinator initiative is to support schools to develop and embed connected and tiered approaches that address the diverse needs of students, including those with complex needs.  

About the Role

The Complex Behaviour Support Coordinator will work with their school leadership team to develop and deliver a framework to support students with complex needs that:

• strengthens connected and whole school systems of support that consider and connect the wellbeing. engagement (behaviour, participation and attendance) and/or learning needs of students
• identifies and plans for universal, targeted and intensive supports.
• builds the capacity of school staff to better plan and respond to the needs of students with complex needs.

As the Complex Behaviour Support Coordinator, you will use your extensive knowledge of connected tiered systems of support, through the lens of a Multi-tiered system of Support, and develop a framework to incorporate strategies and approaches that:

• are informed by data and other sources of evidence
• identify the pre-conditions required for improvement
• identify connected, tiered and targeted interventions and supports, linked to student needs

• understanding of multi-tiered systems of support and capacity to use this knowledge to ensure school-level strategies and interventions are connected, tiered, and mutually reinforcing.
• A CV of up to three (3) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position.
