St Brendan-Shaw College are looking for applications for Multiple New Ongoing Assistant Positions to commence in 2026. Days and hours are between 8:30am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

St Brendan-Shaw College is a Catholic, co-educational school located in Devonport on the North West Coast of Tasmania catering for students from Years 7 to 12. The College is committed to creating a learning environment that fosters excellence, compassion and service in our students.

Teacher Assistants are accountable for providing effective, quality support to teachers in the delivery of defined educational programs and activities and interventions for students as required.

Teacher Assistants are required to demonstrate that they are:

  • Able to relate to students with varying needs, exercising judgement and discretion in undertaking duties
  • Able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Able to apply literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills to effectively undertake the role
  • Able to use initiative to resolve problems and conflicts in a constructive manner
  • Flexible and dependable

Under guidance of the Teacher, candidates will be required to assist with the supervision and instruction of students with additional and substantial level needs.

Salary will be in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
