About the Role

As a Teacher Aide at Centenary State High School, you will play a vital role in supporting student learning and wellbeing. Working closely with teachers, you will assist in classrooms, provide individual and small-group support, and help students engage with learning materials. This role also involves contributing to school activities, fostering inclusion, and supporting students with diverse needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engaging and supporting students in classrooms and small groups, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
• Assisting teachers with preparing and organising learning materials and resources.
• Supervising and supporting students during excursions, sporting events, and other activities.
• Providing respectful and empathetic assistance to students with diverse needs, including personal care under supervision.
• Collaborating with teachers and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about education, enjoys working with young people, and thrives in a collaborative school environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.
• Empathy and respect for students with diverse needs, including those requiring additional care.
• Ability to assist with literacy and numeracy support, including working with small groups or individual students.

• Flexibility and a collaborative approach to contribute to various school activities and initiatives.

Please note: It is a mandatory requirement of this position that you possess a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
