About the Role
As a Teacher Aide at BrisbaneSDE, you will contribute to the delivery of quality education by supporting teachers, students, and families in an online learning environment. This role is integral to the success of the school's mission to provide engaging and inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acquisitions, cataloguing, and classifying, including managing the accessioning of all additions to the library collection in accordance with the Dewey Decimal system, loading MARC records from the SCIS database, and using TROVE and OCLC Classify.
- Processing resources and preparing them for loans.
- Managing the circulation desk and associated Library Management System (LMS) duties on a daily basis.
- Organising and distributing overdue reports and following up overdue notices.
- Supervising discovery centre users, including shared facilities with Coorparoo Secondary College.
This role would suit a dedicated and empathetic individual who thrives in a collaborative and innovative educational environment.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- A passion for working independently and collaboratively with teacher librarians, teachers, students, and home supervisors.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage library operations effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
