Summary

The Sports Assistant plays a key role in supporting sporting teams and squads within the school environment, operating under the supervision and guidance of a Sports Coach.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with equipment and the preparations for, and conducting of, training sessions and/or sporting events.
  • Supporting students with a diverse range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Ensuring the condition of resources and materials are clean and safe to use and arrange the repair or replacement for any damaged item.
  • Generally, supervising small groups in their chosen sport.
  • Coaching on rules, tactics and expectations within the sport.
  • Encouraging camaraderie and sportsmanship amongst players.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • No formal qualification is required; however, a strong track record in the relevant sport and relevant coaching experience will be highly regarded.
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement
  • Current/valid Queensland Driver’s Licence, if required.
