About You
As a Specialist Support Classroom Teacher, you will work to meet the diverse needs of students to reach their full potential.
Success in this position will be supported by the following skills, qualities, and abilities:
- a tertiary qualification in Education and current NESA accreditation
- a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a school
- quality classroom practice and highly developed skills which enhance student engagement through differentiated and individualised learning programs
- knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) cyclic processes, including planning, implementation, validation and review of student’s Personalised Plans
- co-teach and co-plan with colleagues to ensure that curriculum meets the needs of students with complex needs
- design and deliver differentiated instruction to meet varied learning needs
- collaborate with support staff to implement adjustments and interventions
- create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students
- utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress
- employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback
- support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
- demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being
- integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.
Desirable:
- postgraduate degree or certificate in Inclusive Education or Neurodivergent studies
- previous classroom experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead.
