A welcoming and well-resourced specialist setting in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach a 6th Form class of students with complex needs and PMLD, delivering highly personalised learning in a supportive environment.
The Role
- Lead a small 6th Form class of students with complex needs and PMLD
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes
- Work closely with a skilled team of support staff and therapists
- Focus on communication, life skills, sensory learning and preparation for adulthood
- Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- QTS is essential
- Proven experience supporting students with complex needs and PMLD
- Strong understanding of personalised learning, sensory approaches and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC)
- A compassionate, patient and proactive teaching style
- Child and Adult DBS (desirable)
