We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join our team. This role primarily involves teaching Years 7–10 Humanities and Social Sciences. About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join our team. This role primarily involves teaching Years 7–10 Humanities and Social Sciences. At FCAC, we value educators who build strong relationships, deliver engaging and differentiated programs, and bring learning to life through real-world applications.

As a Secondary Teacher, you will:

  • Create a learning environment in which students feel safe to take intellectual risks, feel comfortable to seek assistance and will be encouraged to perform to the best of their abilities.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver teaching and learning programs that meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students.
  • Ensure that the school and classroom environments are safe, conducive to learning and promote acceptable behaviour.

Skills and experience required

  • Teach Years 7–10 Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Hold a current QCT Registration.
  • The ability to differentiate teaching strategies to support all learners.
  • Well-developed communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • A passion for student-centred learning and academic excellence.

Selection Criteria

  • An ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the ACARA and QCAA curriculum requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective assessment tasks aligned with Version 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum, with a strong understanding of curriculum intent and achievement standards.
  • Well-developed classroom management skills with an expectation of high standards from students.
  • Be a team player who demonstrates flexibility and preparedness to be involved in Secondary School activities and to be an active participant in the whole school.
