We are looking for an outstanding Science Laboratory Assistant to join the team at Scone Grammar School in a temporary capacity. Contract commencing Term 1, 28 January and concluding 26 June 2026.

The Science Laboratory Assistant plays a key role in supporting the science department and enhancing student learning. This position assists teachers in delivering high-quality science education by preparing resources across chemistry, biology, physics, and general science.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in lesson preparation and setting up of equipment and chemicals
• Ordering of resources
• Maintenance of risk assessments with teachers
• Demonstrated knowledge of WHS regulations and chemical safety in an educational or laboratory setting
• Competency with ICT relevant to laboratory operations and record-keeping
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Desirable:

• Proficient in the use of Chemwatch and Risk Assess

Essential:

• Relevant qualifications in laboratory operations, a related field OR working towards
• National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
• NSW Working with Children Check
