School Link Coordinator

Mental Health Drug & Alcohol, Dubbo & Regions

About the role

The School-Link Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people by strengthening partnerships between schools, health services and community support agencies. Working across both public and private school settings, the Coordinator collaborates with education staff, mental health clinicians and other healthcare providers to promote early identification of mental health concerns and ensure students have access to appropriate support and treatment services.

The position facilitates evidence-based referral pathways, helping children, young people and their families navigate available supports, including specialist mental health services where required. Through consultation, liaison and capacity building, the School-Link Coordinator enhances collaboration between the education and health sectors to improve outcomes for students experiencing mental health challenges.

In addition, the Coordinator delivers engaging mental health education sessions that increase awareness, build resilience and support young people to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental ill health. By promoting early intervention and help-seeking behaviours, the role contributes to creating supportive school environments that foster positive mental health and wellbeing.
