School Cook - SEN School Start Date: ASAP Pay: £14 - £16 per hour

Are you an experienced cook with a passion for making a difference?

Veritas Education are recruiting for a School Cook to work in an Outstanding SEN School. We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in catering and a genuine interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in students' daily wellbeing by providing nutritious, balanced meals in a safe and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with school food standards.
• Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and specialist needs.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness in line with Food Safety regulations.
• Manage stock control, ordering, and food storage appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a positive lunchtime experience for students.
• Promote a calm and inclusive dining environment, understanding the additional needs of SEN pupils.
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience as a cook, ideally within a school or care setting.
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have knowledge of allergen management and specialist diets.
• Be patient, adaptable, and understanding of students with additional needs.
• Be organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Have a positive attitude and commitment to supporting children's wellbeing.
