Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate School Cook to join a specialist SEN school in Ormskirk. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring all dietary, sensory, and medical requirements are met in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals in line with school standards
• Cater for allergies, intolerances, and specialist diets
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Manage stock, deliveries, and food storage
• Work collaboratively with school staff to support pupils' needs
• Help create a calm and positive mealtime experience

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience (school, care, or similar setting preferred)
• Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
• Understanding of dietary needs and allergens
• A patient, flexible, and team-focused approach
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
