Position Information
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
About the Role
The School Administrative Manager is responsible for the efficient management of school financial and administrative systems, as well as supervision and training of school administration officers. Manages the provision of support for school activities and routines, including student welfare and wellbeing, and works with the school principal, the school executive and teaching staff as required.
Essential Requirements
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
- Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Capacity to supervise staff.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an office.
- Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the department’s Aboriginal education policy
Special Notes
- The role is to commence Term 3, 2024.
- The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work temporary higher duties as a Business Manager for the remainder of 2024 whilst assisting establishing the new school. Commencing Term 1, 2025 you will revert to your substantive permanent School Administrative Manager, Level 3.

The new Wentworth Point High School (WPHS) is currently under construction at Wentworth Point which is located at Burroway Road Wentworth Point. The high rise six-level school sits in a high-density property area comprising only apartment residences. The NSW government has committed more than $160 million to the new development making Wentworth Point High School a state-of-the-art multi storey high rise public high school. The school is due to commence operations at the beginning of the 2025 school year with a staggered start to year groups year-on-year. The new secondary school is designed to serve the dramatically growing number of local families in the area and will cater for 1530 students with an average year group of 255 students. The school will operate in two phases. The school will house five Support Unit classes. The Support Unit will open in 2025 with three Autism (AU) support classes, a total of 21 students. The school will have close links with Wentworth Point Public School, as a partner school as well as sharing a geographical boundary. The school will also have strong links with Parramatta Council as there will be shared grounds and facilities, such as parking space and an oval.
