St Joseph's Primary School in Springvale, is a school of approximately 530 students and has a strong and proud link to the Vietnamese community. A significant number of families whose children attend the school are from a Vietnamese background. Our school nurtures a strong Catholic culture centred on Jesus Christ.

We are seeking an innovative Religious Education Leader. The POL 2 position will have a FTE of 0.4 and a classroom position to 0.6. The REL tenure will be for 3 years.

Our staff, in partnership with our Parish, strive to ensure that the children in our care have the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with God through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching and a commitment to student and family wellbeing.

Applicants require:

• A deep understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education as a mission of the Catholic Church in Australia.
• Expert knowledge in the area of Catholic Identity and Religious Education.
• Advanced skills in the development and application of innovative Religious Education learning and teaching strategies.
• The ability to facilitate professional learning in the areas of Catholic Identity and Religious Education.
• A highly developed capacity to work with leadership to support schools to identify and address areas for improvement in the context of Catholic Identity and Religious Education.
• The ability to analyse and interpret data sets that may support school improvement and strategic planning.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Evidence of working towards or having academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education. A Masters in Religious Education or Educational Leadership will be seen as an advantage
• Relevant experience within the last five (5) years in Catholic parish primary schools, or currently in a role associated with and supporting Catholic parish primary schools
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education
• Evidence of involvement in their own Parish.
• A commitment to Child Safe Standards and the wellbeing of children
• Current VIT registration.
