Job Description

Lauriston Girls’ School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Early Childhood Educator – Team Leader to join the vibrant Extended Hours Care program at our Blairholme Early Learning Centre. This role is ideal committed to nurturing young children and contributing to a joyful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

About the role

Full-time ongoing position, commencing January 2026

As a Team Leader, you will work collaboratively within a cohesive team to deliver high-quality care and an interest-based curriculum for children aged from infants to 5 years, playing a a vital role in fostering children's development across physical, social, emotional, and cognitive domains, while upholding the values and philosophy of Lauriston Girls’ School. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, valuing children as capable, curious learners and encouraging exploration through play and inquiry.

  • Lead a team of educators to deliver high-quality education and care aligned with our Centre philosophy.
  • Develop and implement engaging programs based on children’s interests and developmental needs.
  • Foster strong partnerships with families and the wider school community.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework and uphold the highest standards of child safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee programming and documentation for your room.
  • Create an aesthetically beautiful and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support and mentor educators to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to Centre goals and quality improvement plans.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education)
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality education and care for children aged 0–5 years
  • Strong understanding of child development and the programming cycle
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Leadership capability to guide and mentor a team
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid
