Project and Support Officer
This is a permanent full-time position commencing August 2026
The Secondary Schools, District High Schools and Post-School Pathways Directorate sits within Service Delivery and plays a key role in supporting schools to improve student outcomes. It focuses on coordinating targeted, evidence-based support for secondary and district high schools, particularly those identified as requiring additional assistance, ensuring alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities and commitment to high-quality teaching and leadership.
The Directorate also contributes to strengthening post-school pathways by providing expertise and guidance that helps schools better prepare students for future education, training, and employment. Through collaboration with regions and schools, it ensures services are effectively planned and delivered, supporting both immediate student achievement and longer-term success beyond school.
The Role
The Project and Support Officer supports the implementation of system strategies and priorities by contributing to the development and delivery of professional learning, policies, resources, and services that improve student outcomes. Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating projects, programs, and initiatives, while providing subject matter support to inform system responses, including briefings, reports, and ministerial documentation.
The role requires coordination of administrative systems and processes to enable effective service delivery, including data collection, analysis, and program evaluation which inform planning and reporting. The Project and Support Officer provides executive and administrative support to projects, including preparing correspondence, managing records, maintaining online resources, and supports procurement and financial processes, in line with policy.
In this role you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the development and implementation of initiatives, and assist with contract management and human resource activities and operations. The position requires engagement in culturally responsive and context-specific practices, ensuring respectful and effective collaboration across teams and business units to deliver integrated services and support to schools and the system.
