Position Information
Parramatta High School, established in 1913, is a co-educational, partially selective secondary school located in the city of Parramatta. The school has a current enrolment of 1191 students. 96% of the students are from Language Backgrounds Other Than English with the predominant languages being Hindi, Tamil, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Our vision is to ensure that all students successfully transition through each stage of their learning through explicit and differentiated teaching. We are committed to implementing department priorities such as the High Potential and Gifted Education policy. The school has a range of Quality Teaching programs that support learning in the classroom and recognise student diversity with an emphasis on “What Works Best”.
All staff are trained in the University of New South Wales GERRIC (Gifted and Talented) program. Strong student welfare and learning programs are provided across all the stages. Development of student leadership is essential to the school ethos leading to increased leadership capacity and civic and citizenship awareness amongst our students. - Proven leadership to deliver improved educational outcomes for a dynamic and diverse student population to ensure that every student can learn, grow and belong in an outstanding and equitable education system.
- Proven ability to drive a culture of high expectations throughout the school community to leverage the implementation of the High Potential and Gifted Education policy at the school.
General Selection Criteria
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level 4 for 2024.
