Position Information
Greenway Park Public School is situated approximately 11km west of Liverpool, South Western Sydney within the residential area of Carnes Hill. The school serves a diverse multicultural community with an enrolment of 620 students, of which 79% come from a language background other than English, 75% have English as an additional language or dialect and 1% are from a refugee background. 1% of the student population identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
The school prides itself on research based pedagogical practices, which are utilised in the delivery of programs driven by direct instruction. We balance data driven, explicit instruction and feedback with innovative collegial practices. Highly qualified teachers engage in professional learning targeted to school priorities. The 2024 external validation highlighted the need to maintain a strong focus on reading, with teachers using evidence-based strategies tailored to all students, including high achievers. Effective instructional leadership drives high expectations and differentiated learning, with a priority on building teacher and leader capacity through targeted professional development and research-based practices. General Selection Criteria
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- An outstanding leader who has high emotional intelligence and values transparency, decisiveness, visibility and openness as fundamental to their leadership role
- An experienced leader who has a proven ability to lead outstanding relationship building across the entire school community, celebrating success and enhancing the learning and wellbeing outcomes of all students
- Ability to communicate effectively, celebrating richness in the diversity of a school community and proven experience in developing strong transitions while creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all
- Demonstrated ability to create a compelling vision, mobilising all to the goals and aspirations of the school excellence plan, while finetuning and celebrating the current trajectory the school is on
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2026.
