CAPS Kurrawang is a small, close-knit Christian school serving approximately 85 predominantly Aboriginal (First Nations) students from Kindy to Year 6. The school runs four mixed-year classes and is proud of its near 80% attendance rate — exceptional by any measure in this space.
We are seeking a Year 3/4 classroom teacher to join our passionate, cohesive team. You will be supported by an Education Assistant (EA) and work within a school culture built on co-ownership, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to every child in the building.
- Classroom Teaching —Plan and deliver engaging Year 3/4 programmes aligned with the WA Curriculum, adapting to the diverse learning needs of your students.
- Student Wellbeing —Build genuine, caring relationships with students and their families — you will often be at the coalface of their world, not just their education.
- Collaborative Practice —Work as part of a tight-knit team where co-ownership of the school environment is the norm.

- ABOUT YOU:Ideal CandidatePractising Christian with a genuine faith commitment and a servant’s heart. This is essential.
- Registered (or eligible to register) with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
- Primary-qualified with a strong understanding of the WA Curriculum.
- Culturally humble — prior experience with Aboriginal communities is valued, but genuine willingness to learn from this specific community matters more.
- A ‘boots in’ team player who thrives in a collaborative, everyone-gets-involved environment.
- Emotionally resilient and mission-minded — you understand that education here goes far beyond the curriculum.
- Committed to staying — we are looking for someone who will invest in seeing a cohort grow through the school. A minimum three-year commitment is preferred; five years is ideal.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, families, staff, and community.
The successful applicant will be subject to the Federal Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
