The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our growing Primary team. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong classroom practice, a commitment to student wellbeing, and the ability to engage positively with students, colleagues, and families.
Key Responsibilities
The role of the Primary Homeroom Teacher may include, but is not limited to:
- Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons for individuals and groups of students
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs
- Differentiating teaching to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievement
- Participating in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional learning, camps, and excursions
- Undertaking other teaching and organisational duties as directed by the School Principal
Skills, Experience & Attributes
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A genuine passion for teaching and student learning
- Strong organisational, classroom management, and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication skills, including confidence in managing challenging situations
- Sound content knowledge and effective pedagogical practice
- A clear understanding of appropriate professional behaviour when working with children
- The ability to reflect on practice and contribute positively to a collaborative team
- Relevant experience, qualifications, and personal attributes aligned with the role
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Primary Education
- Current VIT registration (essential)
- Previous experience teaching primary classes
- A commitment to the values and ethos of the College
