Summary
St Augustine’s College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teacher/Pastoral Leader who also has a speciality in teaching Mathematics to Secondary students. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, faith-filled learning community committed to the academic, spiritual and emotional growth of every student.
This is a continuing teaching appointment (specialising in Maths), with a one year initial appointment as Pastoral Leader, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three-year appointments as Pastoral Leader can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

- Salary: $86,601 - $124,725/annum + super (commensurate with experience) + Middle Leadership Tier 3 allowance + superannuation

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Teach engaging and meaningful Mathematics lessons across the secondary years, supporting students to develop strong numeracy skills, critical thinking, and confidence in their learning.
- Providing leadership in pastoral care for a designated group of students, ensuring their well-being aligns with the school’s mission and values.
- Supervising teachers involved in student pastoral care, offering guidance and support for effective practices.
- Facilitating the induction process for new teachers within your area of responsibility or overseeing their induction when handled by other experienced staff.
- Monitoring students' holistic development, including their academic performance, social interactions, spiritual growth, and physical health, and addressing concerns through appropriate measures.
- Coordinating efforts among staff focused on student welfare, fostering teamwork and aligning activities with the school’s ethos.
- Managing student behavior in line with the school’s behavior management policies, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Proven ability to provide leadership in pastoral care, ensuring the well-being of students aligns with the school’s ethos and values.
- Strong capability to monitor students' holistic development, addressing academic, social, spiritual, and physical concerns as necessary.
- Knowledge of behavior management practices to promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Experience in organizing and overseeing pastoral activities such as camps, retreats, or enrichment events, collaborating effectively with relevant personnel.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, implementing best practices in student care and sharing insights with staff.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget planning and effective handling of material resources within your area of responsibility.

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
