Victory Lutheran College is seeking an outstanding educator to join our Secondary School as a Pastoral Care Leader and Classroom Teacher.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about student wellbeing, restorative practice and fostering positive relationships with young people and their families. As a key leader within our Secondary School, you will help shape a culture where students feel known, supported and challenged to flourish.

Working closely with students, families, teachers and College leaders, the Pastoral Care Leader provides year-level leadership for student wellbeing, behaviour, belonging and pastoral care, while continuing to teach within their subject area. The role combines meaningful leadership with classroom practice, creating opportunities to influence both individual students and the wider school community.

POSITION DETAILS

• Secondary School leadership position.
• Multiple positions available across Years 7-12.
• Ongoing teaching position with a fixed-term Position of Responsibility.
• Category D, Level 2 leadership allowance.
• Release time provided to undertake leadership responsibilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Pastoral Care Leader provides year-level leadership for student wellbeing, behaviour, belonging and pastoral care within the Secondary School. Working closely with students, families and staff, you will play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive year-level culture while supporting students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The successful applicant will:

• Provide pastoral leadership for an allocated secondary year level.
• Support student wellbeing, attendance, engagement and belonging.
• Partner with families to support students through challenges and celebrate successes.
• Foster a positive and inclusive year-level culture.
• Lead restorative conversations and behaviour support processes.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to coordinate support for students.
• Contribute to camps, parent information evenings, student events and wellbeing initiatives.
• Teach classes within their area of expertise.
• Model the Christian values and ethos of the College.

• Values restorative approaches and student-centred practice.
• Is committed to professional growth and continuous improvement.
• Supports the Christian mission and values of the College.

Appropriate qualifications and current VIT registration (or the ability to obtain it) are required.
