About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and strategic marketing and communications professional to join DOBCEL as Marketing and Communications Manager on a 12-month parental leave contract.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this senior leadership role provides specialist advice and support to the Executive Director and Directorate Team while leading the implementation and continuous improvement of DOBCEL’s marketing and communications strategy.

The role leads a small team and works closely with schools and stakeholders across the Diocese to strengthen the Catholic education brand, enhance engagement, and ensure a clear and consistent organisational voice across all communications channels.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of DOBCEL’s Marketing and Communications Strategy
  • Coordinate and deliver integrated marketing and communications initiatives across digital, print, media, and social platforms
  • Lead brand management and ensure consistency across all communications and publications
  • Develop engaging and high-quality content to support organisational priorities and school initiatives
  • Oversee DOBCEL’s digital presence, including website, social media, and online communications
  • Identify and manage public relations and media opportunities
  • Support schools with marketing, communications, and promotional initiatives
  • Lead enrolment and promotional campaigns, including digital advertising strategies
  • Provide communications leadership during emergency or crisis situations
  • Lead and support the Marketing and Communications team in a collaborative and service-oriented environment

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Marketing and Communications role
  • Excellent writing and proof-reading skills, and a demonstrated ability to produce compelling ‘on message’ content, stories, and articles for a broad range of audiences and channels
  • Demonstrated knowledge of media operations and experience in dealing with social, electronic, and print media to drive enhanced reputation
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and deliver the desired quality assets on time and budget
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of people, stakeholders/partners
