The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality support across the curriculum, helping pupils to achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Provide targeted intervention support to raise attainment and progress.
- Support pupils with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
- Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and resource management.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school activities where required.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working within a Primary School setting.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learning.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Requirements
- Experience delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy.
- Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
- Knowledge of phonics programmes and primary assessment frameworks.
- First Aid qualification.
