Applications are sought for the position of Learning Support Officer at the Mornington campus. The role of the Learning Diversity team at Padua College is to provide an inclusive education, enhancing educational opportunities for all students. The full inclusion of students with disability has a positive impact upon the learning and teaching environment for all. LSOs work with the Campus Learning Diversity Coordinators and subject teachers to support the learning of students in Years 7 to 12, across all Learning Areas in order to maximise students' participation within the curriculum, support students whilst encouraging independence and social inclusion and assisting subject teachers in providing an inclusive education for all students. This is a part-time (0.91 FTE - 5 days per week) ongoing Education Support Employee position to commence as soon as practicable.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The role of the Learning Diversity team at Padua College is to provide an inclusive education, enhancing educational opportunities for all students. The full inclusion of students with disability has a positive impact upon the learning and teaching environment for all.

The Learning Support Officer (LSO) is an Education Support Employee (ESE) appointment. They report directly to the Director of Learning Diversity (DLD) and/or the Director of Business but are directed by the College Learning Diversity Administrator (CLDA) and the Campus Learning Diversity Organiser (CLDO).

LSOs work with the Campus Learning Diversity Coordinators (CLDC) and subject teachers to support the learning of students in Years 7 to 12, across all Learning Areas in order to maximise students' participation within the curriculum, support students whilst encouraging independence and social inclusion and assisting subject teachers in providing an inclusive education for all students. LSOs are expected to assist at other campuses if and when required. This Position Description is subject to review and modification by the Principal or his/her nominee at any time in response to the changing needs of the College.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The responsibilities of the Learning Support office include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting students in the classroom/Learning Hub to ensure they can access the curriculum on the same basis as their peers.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks required as directed by the DLD, CLDA, and CLDO.
  • Performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.

SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $56,579.00 – $72,459.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
