The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they can fully engage with their education in a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils within the classroom.
- Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence.
- Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work, or support setting.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
