About us:

At Kolbe Catholic College, we are dedicated to the transformative potential of education, inspired by our vision that "Everyone Grows" As our community flourishes, with our established St Clare of Assisi Campus (Greenvale) and the new opened St Catherine of Bologna Campus (Mickleham), we are thrilled to announce this opportunity for a committed and passionate Food Technology Teacher at St Catherine (Mickleham).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of the EAL Curriculum in line with VCAA requirements
• Assess and place newly arrived and refugee students, including tailored induction and transition programs
• Build whole staff capability in EAL strategies and inclusive practices
• Coordinate and supervise the Multicultural Aide team, including timetabling and ongoing professional development
• Analyse EAL learner data to inform targeted support for future growth
• Establish partnerships with families. external agencies and MACS networks or groups

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Relevant teaching qualification and registration.
• Experience in curriculum development.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading teams or educational initiatives.
• Knowledge and understanding of English as an Additional Language (EAL) pedagogy and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and external agencies.
• Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values upheld by Kolbe Catholic College.
• Familiarity with child safety policies and commitment to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all students.
• Proven ability to innovate, think creatively, and inspire others to achieve positive outcomes.

Position Details:

• Position: Learning Leader (EAL)
• Classification: POL 2
• Remuneration: As per CEMEA2022
• Tenure: 2027-2029
• Review: Annual reviews will be conducted throughout the tenure based on self and peer appraisal as well as goal setting.
