We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learner Diversity Aide to a support students with diverse learning and physical needs. Working under the direction of classroom teachers and the Learner Diversity Team you will play a key role in helping a male student participate fully in school life. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learner Diversity Aide to a support students with diverse learning and physical needs. Working under the direction of classroom teachers and the Learner Diversity Team you will play a key role in helping a male student participate fully in school life. Your work will involve both learning assistance in the classroom and personal care support as required.

This is a permanent, part-time opportunity working 60.5 hours per fortnight commencing Term 1 2026.

Specific Criteria

The Learner Diversity Aide provides targeted support under the direction of the classroom teacher to promote student participation, independence, and access to curriculum. In particular, the Leader Diversity Aide will be expected to meet the following criteria:

Physical and health support duties

• Toileting, washing and dressing students
• Undertaking Health Care Procedures as defined by the Enterprise Agreement
• Feeding support, including enteral feeding
• Mobility assistance (e.g. use of hoists, wheelchairs, or standing frames)
• Applying first aid
• Providing emergency care as per a student's Health Care Plan

Additional criteria

• Be highly effective, skilled administration services/support officer with experience in a busy dynamic office environment
• Possess high level interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, student, parents/carers and community members
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
• Be task focused with attention to detail and flexibility regarding duties
• Be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community

Mater Maria Catholic College is a Years 7 to 12 Systemic coeducational day school of over 1000 students. The College was established by the Good Samaritan Sisters in 1962 initially as a girls’ school. From 1962 until 1990, twenty-five Good Samaritan Sisters served at the College. In 1979 the College became co-educational and in 1980 the Sisters donated the land of the College in perpetuity. Responsibility for the College was later handed to the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.
